Sr. Audio Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Audio Systems Engineer with a deep understanding of Audio HAL and Qualcomm ADSP (Audio Digital Signal Processing). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive audio systems and hands-on experience with AudioWeaver tuning software. This role requires familiarity with Android’s AOSP (Android Open Source Project) framework, particularly regarding audio integration and customization.
Key Responsibilities:
· Audio Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL):
o Design, develop, and integrate custom Audio HAL implementations for automotive applications.
o Collaborate with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration of audio hardware and software.
o Troubleshoot and optimize the Audio HAL for performance, quality, and reliability in embedded automotive systems.
· Qualcomm ADSP Expertise:
o Work with Qualcomm's ADSP on Snapdragon platforms, including configuration, audio routing, and DSP tuning.
o Develop and optimize algorithms on the DSP, ensuring low-latency audio processing that meets automotive standards.
· Automotive Audio Systems:
o Apply knowledge of automotive requirements, safety standards, and reliability needs in audio system development.
o Integrate audio features into infotainment systems, including advanced sound processing for cabin environments.
· AudioWeaver Tuning:
o Utilize AudioWeaver for audio signal processing tuning, ensuring high-quality audio output and fine-tuning DSP parameters.
o Collaborate with acoustics and audio tuning teams to meet desired audio performance standards.
· Android AOSP Framework:
o Work with the Android AOSP framework, specifically focusing on audio stack integration within the Android ecosystem.
o Customize and extend Android audio services for enhanced audio features in automotive environments.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Audio Engineering, or a related field.
· 5+ years of experience in audio software development, with a focus on embedded or automotive systems.
· Proficiency in Audio HAL development and integration.
· Strong understanding of Qualcomm ADSP and experience with DSP programming and optimization.
· Familiarity with AudioWeaver tuning software and experience in DSP audio tuning.
· In-depth knowledge of Android’s AOSP audio framework.
· Experience in the automotive domain is highly preferred.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with Android Audio Manager and custom audio policy configuration.
· Knowledge of audio codecs and audio processing algorithms.
· Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with experience in embedded systems development.
· Ability to work cross-functionally with hardware, software, and acoustics engineering teams.
