Job Description Summary
The Engineering Project Manager (EPM) is responsible for leading the product development team to meet all program milestones as defined at project inception. EPMs will have knowledge of the design and development life cycle of electronics. Working with a matrix team from other internal groups, the EPM is responsible for leading projects of power electronics for military and commercial platforms from the initial proposal through hardware qualification. The EPM owns the planning, drives the customer specifications, and ensures engineering deliverables are met within schedule, cost, and quality. The EPM ensures compliance with GE’s procedures and processes. This position requires strong interpersonal communication skills and coordination with Business Development, Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing and managing design and development of engineering projects.
Interfaces with internal/external stakeholders to ensure organization resource allocation is made.
Accountable to deliver the scope of work to the original cost, schedule, and quality.
Manages schedule, budget, and integration of NPI and/or requisition projects, including influencing the project teams to meet customer milestones and hit tollgate milestones.
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of product development technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute projects.
Aware of all aspects of design and development process and able to anticipate and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Uses sound judgment and proposes solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated issues with technical team and/or other stakeholders.
Acts as a mentor for colleagues.
Acts to resolve conflict resolution and developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics.
Provides estimates on cycle times and design tasks to generate project schedules in MS Project including schedule and cost performance indicators.
Basic Qualifications:
This role requires experience in Electronic Product Development & Project Management.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering or Project.
Desired Characteristics
Management experience with leading large-scale projects as a project manager is a plus.
Knowledge of Earned Value Management and how to manage key performance indicators.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
Proficient with MS Project.
Familiar with Design tools (ie. Mentor Graphics, ANSYS, CADD).
Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) a plus.
Experience creating project management plans and budget work packages.
Limited travel required.
The base pay range for this position is $105,600 - $160,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on November 7, 2025.
