Job Description
Electronic Design Engineers at Western Digital are responsible for all aspects of digital design in NAND flash memory, focusing on micro architecture, RTL verification, and timing analysis to deliver a design meeting target power, performance, and area goals.
Interns in this role will join a team that designs circuits for NAND flash memory, including digital circuits and/or analog circuits; perform block level and full chip circuit simulation to meet all performance specifications; conduct silicon debugging and evaluation with micro-probing; collaborate with characterization engineers to fully characterize silicon; and partner with other designers to develop solutions for silicon issues.
Projects may include:
- Working on silicon evaluation and signal analysis.
- Participating in RTL design and verification
- Involved in transistor level circuit design and verification with senior design engineer.
Qualifications
- Current student, pursuing a Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields and graduating between December 2025 and June 2026
- Applicants are limited to Summer 2023 participants in the Purdue University STARS program
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technical skills in area of study
- Interest in HDD, flash, semiconductor, components, nonvolatile memory industry
- Interest in electronics, or analog/digital circuitry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using programming languages: C/C++, Python, Perl
