Job Summary

Are you a passionate culinary leader ready to make an impact in an educational environment? FISD at Hill-Murray School is seeking a dynamic Senior Chef Manager to oversee food service operations for students and staff, including the lunch program, catering, and satellite campus. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise food service operations, ensuring they align with the school’s values, policies, and legal regulations
  • Actively engage in employee meetings, training programs, and team development to promote growth and success
  • Ensure the highest standards in safety, sanitation, and equipment maintenance
  • Manage food costs while delivering outstanding meals that meet our quality expectations
  • Play a pivotal role in shaping the development of your team, encouraging collaboration and growth
  • Oversee purchasing, inventory, and vendor management to keep operations running smoothly
  • Take on special projects that drive innovation and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Culinary Arts (or equivalent professional experience)
  • At least 3 years of progressive culinary management experience
  • Experience working in an educational setting is a plus
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Positive, motivating leader who inspires excellence and fosters a supportive team atmosphere
  • A passion for culinary excellence, with a commitment to consistently exceeding expectations
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP controls, food storage, and safety standards
  • Experience in purchasing, food storage, sanitation, and inventory management
  • Expertise in P&L and financial reporting
  • Flexible to work weekends as needed for this role
  • Solid understanding of budgets, labor costs, and inventory controls
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on mentorship and team building
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent client relations, always maintaining a professional and welcoming demeanor
  • Ability to lift, bend, and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Commitment to the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior
  • ServSafe or Department of Health certification is a plus
