JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Intellectual Property Business Development Coordinator, you’ll be at the forefront of driving high-impact marketing and business development initiatives that support one of the firm’s most dynamic practice areas. This position involves regular collaboration with attorneys, as well as team members across the Marketing & Business Development Department and other administrative areas of the firm. The ideal candidate brings experience from a law firm or other professional services environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and excels at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. A proactive self-starter, this individual possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, is proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and thrives in a collaborative environment. Familiarity with intellectual property law and legal research tools is a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Prepare marketing materials as requested by attorneys and/or staff. Identify and determine appropriate materials for each request, oversee the assembly and completion of prototype and secure required approvals, ensure on-time delivery of high-quality materials.
- Track pitch materials after presentation; report results and file as appropriate.
- Assist with RFP responses by working with attorneys to draft, collect, and/or organize content as received from attorneys. May involve formatting, editing, submitting by deadline, and follow up.
- Communication with the IP Business Development Team is of utmost importance. Weekly project status updates are required, as well as key information updates more frequently as necessary/requested.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of practice and individual attorney information on external web sites and materials for all relevant practice groups and subspecialties.
- Assist with the planning and coordination of internal and external group events, sponsorships, memberships, as assigned.
- Prepare award nominations, surveys, and submissions for directory and ranking authorities such as Chambers, Legal 500, and Best Lawyers/Best Law Firms.
- Perform updates to various marketing information systems as assigned.
- Perform other marketing and business development related responsibilities and projects as necessary (PowerPoints, CLE presentation materials, experience database content updates, Area and Group meetings, etc.).
EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, English or Communications is preferred.
- Previous experience of 3-5 years in marketing is preferred, optimally in a professional services setting.
