This ensures we retain our global number one position within this market and drive innovation to our customers, operators and handlers worldwide. </p><p></p><p>At Vanderlande, Agile product development is core to our way of working and the VIBES Core development consists of Agile/Scrum teams. This is a global development initiative, and you will join the Veghel team, whilst other development and technology teams are located in Canada, India and Germany. You will be in a multi-disciplined team of developers and test engineers, who work closely with our product managers, product owners, architects and technology leads. <br/> </p><p>Innovation is the key to winning in a world that is changing faster than ever. Our customers are expecting regular updates and new features. To support this, we have started to make our software easier to deploy and configure and more open to extensions. This requires refactoring, migrating to a new technology stack, and in some cases rebuilding. At the same time, we still need to accommodate new features. </p><p></p><p>What will you be doing?</p><p>As a senior Java engineer in the BCR (Baggage Control Room) team you are responsible for designing, programming, testing and maintaining High Level Control software components. These components are part of the VIBES Airports software which implements business logic for the material handling systems and interaction with the baggage control room operators at customer airports. The complex functionality of VIBES includes controls for logistical transport and planning, communication with external systems, monitoring, reporting, data analysis and simulation, and its spread across various components.</p><p></p><p>Responsibilities</p><p>Your role will focus on two of these components:</p><p>Operational Planning Module (OPM) – VIBES software component that is responsible for handling the operational planning at customer airports. OPM implements the logic which allows the frontend layer to make changes in the operational plan and reports the changes to the rest of the VIBES components.</p><p></p><p>Operational Dashboard (ODB) – VIBES software component that accommodates interaction between high level controls layer of the baggage handling system and the frontend layer (VIBES UX). It presents real time information about the baggage operation and provides aggregated data to VIBES components that support analysis and reporting functions.</p><p></p><p>You are part of an agile SCRUM team, working together to deliver component functionality on a regular basis. Together with the team and the product owner you analyze, estimate and implement features, create the releases and assist each other in order to meet the set goals, while focusing on quality and engineering best practices.</p><p></p><p>As a team we strive to meet our business goals while continuously seeking opportunities to improve our components and work processes.
