Manager, Corporate Accounting

We are looking for a Corporate Accounting Manager to join our growing team. This represents an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual knowledgeable in accounting and proficient in building interpersonal relationships within and outside of the Accounting department.
Our Corporate Accounting team owns all P&L and Balance Sheet accounting (other than that related to revenue, accounts receivable, and deferred revenue). In addition to the management of monthly close and consolidation processes, the Corporate Accounting team covers a variety of challenging topics including capitalized software, commissions, leases, share-based compensation, and self-insurance. The team has high visibility within the overall accounting organization and within the company.

This role will report to the Sr. Manager of Corporate Accounting located in Washington state.
You Will:
- Manage monthly close process across a variety of accounting topics
- Review accounting workpapers and own internal control documentation for corporate accounting processes
- Lead, mentor, and guide 1-3 direct reports (staff and seniors)
- Prepare and review corporate accounting schedules required as support for quarterly and annual filings
- Interact with external and internal auditors as representative of the corporate accounting team
- Work cross functionally with other internal teams to gather data, resolve issues, and scale our business processes
- Provide analysis of variances between financial results month-over-month and quarter-over-quarter
- Lead integration of corporate accounting processes for acquired entities
- Actively scale accounting processes through system implementations, ERP enhancements, and process improvements
- Ensure consistencies in processes between domestic and international accounting teams
You Have:
- 4+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field
- 1+ years of people management preferred
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- CPA license strongly preferred
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of GAAP, SOX, financial statements, and ability to understand technical accounting concepts and topics
- NetSuite experience strongly preferred
- Willingness to approach tasks hands-on and balance requirements of both preparing and reviewing deliverables

- Smartsheet provides a competitive range of compensation for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive bonus and RSU stock grant upon accepted offer. California & New York: $118,800 to $172,800 | All other US States: $110,000 to $160,000.
