Within Corporate Audit Services, we are setting up a brand-new, dedicated data and AI team within NN CAS. This team is all about driving innovation and transforming the way audits are conducted. As one of the founding members, you’ll play a key role in shaping how data and AI are used to uncover risks, enhance processes, and support decision-making across NN’s business units - from NN Life, NN Non-life and NN Bank in the Netherlands to NN Spain, NN Greece, and beyond.

Your main goal is to create data science solutions for internal audits and reviews, working closely with your audit colleagues. You’ll collaborate with teams in The Hague and across NN’s international business units, building solutions that make a real impact. This role offers you a unique opportunity to gain insights into the processes and systems used across our diverse organization—from NN Life, NN Non-life, and NN Bank in the Netherlands to NN Spain, NN Greece, and beyond.

This role provides you with a unique opportunity to gain insights into the processes and systems used across these diverse business units. Your expertise will enable you to advise colleagues on the capabilities of specific systems or direct them to solutions implemented elsewhere.

From our internal, independent audit team, we ensure qualitative, in-depth investigations for the products and services within NN Group. And when we say in-depth, we mean it. We dive deep into the processes of the value chains to thoroughly examine the outcomes. We do not conduct standard checks; we delve into the content. This way, you can uncover in detail what is happening and make a real impact. Based on this, we can also challenge the business on improvements after an investigation.

What you are going to do

In this role, you will combine your passion for data with a keen ability to identify risks and develop innovative solutions that contribute to the reliability and efficiency of the processes of the organization. As a data scientist within CAS you will be conducting complex data analytics, process mining, building AI Agents for audit and building proof of concepts of controls which do not exist in the organization. Through this data-driven audit work, which spans the breadth of NN Group, you will directly contribute to NN's success. Beyond supporting your internal audit colleagues, your expertise in data and artificial intelligence will also be crucial for CAS in auditing artificial intelligence systems used by the organization.

Together with your audit colleagues you answer research and audit questions using data analytics, and you especially enjoy presenting your observations to the business and helping them understand their risks and challenges. We work on different types of audits with colleagues from different audit teams, both in the Netherlands as well as internationally.

Specifically, you develop insights into the different risks of the organization by analyzing data to truly create value for our company of tomorrow. Researching and applying new technology plays an important role. You use techniques such as Python, SQL, R, Databricks and AI as a service and LLMs, like Cognitive Services and OpenAI.
