I. JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for conducting analyses to address a variety of diverse situations including analysis of current and future Therapeutic Areas of development, assessment of internal pipeline product opportunities, and assisting with commercial due diligence efforts for BD&L. This person should be a strong collaborator with demonstrated experience working cross-functionally and building internal collaboration. This role works closely with Franchise Leaders in Commercial Development and BD&L colleagues. Reports to the VP, Global Strategic Marketing and Commercial Development.

- Utilize background in commercial analysis to identify, design and execute integrated analytics which inform the commercial picture and revenue forecasts for therapeutic area assessments & long-range planning, pipeline products & lifecycle management and external BD&L opportunities.
- Perform commercial assessments across multiple disease areas to address complex business questions; perform analyses for internal pipeline products by gathering customer insights, define unmet medical need, determine product value proposition and potential, analyze payer/market access environments, test target product profiles (TPPs) and indication selection and prioritization.
- Execute primary and secondary US and global market research determining methods most appropriate to collect information for decision-making, including the ability to extract and utilize data in services such as Global Data, Symphony, etc., to inform forecast assumptions and answer key commercial business questions.
- Support BD&L in identifying and assessing commercial attractiveness and economic feasibility of external development opportunities.
- Lead external market research projects in preparation for business cases in support of commercial lifecycle planning and BD&L and therapeutic area development
- Identify risks and opportunities and partner with cross-functional teams to synthesize the information
- Present commercial analysis/assessment findings and recommendations to senior management to inform decisions
- Work alongside Competitive Intelligence to interpret findings and integrate into total insight and recommendations.

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
- BS/BA required; MBA or advanced degree is preferred
- Minimum of 10-15 years in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry in commercial and analytical functions (working on industry side and/or providing services working at a consulting firm)
- Proven ability to lead multiple projects efficiently and independently in a cross-functional environment
- Experience working with insights services & applications, e.g., Symphony, Global Data, Cap IQ, Guidepoint, etc.
- Experience in primary market research, growth strategy and driver analysis, synergy assessment, financial forecasting and valuation, market research/analytics, and/or business development/due diligence
- Market access, Pricing and Payer landscape experience a plus
- Leadership experience managing external vendors and internal assessment process and working in cross functional teams in a highly matrix structure and planning/ managing budget
- Broad therapeutic area, vaccine, and drug/device experience preferred
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing, matrixed environment
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, as well as oral and written communication skills
- Strategic thinker, self-starter, and results-oriented
- Excellent business acumen
- Structured problem solving and storyboarding
Travel:
Approximately 10%. Unlikely to include international travel.
U.S. Base Pay Ranges and Benefits Information
