About you and this role
As the Business Finance Manager, you will provide financial reporting and analysis to a business using specialized depth and breadth of expertise in Finance. You will interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices based on financial analysis. You will also provide reporting and insights for senior management to make business decisions based on financial performance indicators.
In this role, you will require specialized, in-depth knowledge and advanced expertise in your discipline or functional area. You will need to analyze and identify internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. You should be able to communicate difficult concepts to others and persuade others to adopt a different point of view.
It is your responsibility to be able to use sophisticated analytical thought and judgement to identify innovative solutions. You will need to be able to lead others to solve complex problems and potentially lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Your performance impacts business direction through the development of new products or services.
Responsibilities
- Financial co-pilot for the EM&E (Engineered Materials and Elastomers Value Center)
- Provide financial expertise and counsel to the business leadership team
- Drive business strategy and results
- Partner across multiple functions (product management, commercial, supply chain, manufacturing, R&D, etc.)
- Perform economic evaluations and participate in business capital and innovation project reviews.
- Participates in monthly and quarterly closing process, providing the overall business analysis for the value center, including following up deviations vs. estimates and explaining the results to the business leadership team
- Participates in monthly estimate process, providing the overall business analysis for the value center, including following up changes and explaining the forecasts to the business leadership team
- Support annual profit plan activities
- Provides ad-hoc financial analyses as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Engineering or related discipline OR relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class, Sergeant ranking or higher
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
