Job Summary

Our Rail + Transit sector is seeking an experienced Project Controls Analyst to work on projects of various complexity.

Do you want to be part of our project teams that work on high-profile transportation projects? This position will function in supporting compliance of contractual requirements, monitoring document control, and preparing key project performance data.

In an advanced capacity, the Project Controls Analyst supports group leaders in technical and supervisory duties, supporting the growth and development of junior team members and colleagues.

The position will be associated with our Chicago OR Kansas City office but also can work hybrid or remotely. Preference for candidate to be based in the Chicago or Central time zone.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Do:

  • Track project performance and regularly communicate with Project Manager and/or Team Leads.

  • Manage the coordination and preparation of subconsultant development and processing within the company on projects of various sizes and complexities.

  • Prepare Project Performance data and analysis for Project Managers including, but not limited to, Earned Value, Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), Cost to Complete, Forecast, Burn Rate, etc.

  • Process, distribute, and maintain controlled documentation using owner document control systems.

  • Perform overall document control and flow of engineering design/submittals and processes/reviews.

  • Process documents for review, revision, and approval.

  • Assign and maintain the application of metadata attributes and codes for project documents.

  • Organize and attend project progress and coordination meetings. Develop draft meeting agendas, action items and meeting minutes and follow up with appropriate parties as needed.

  • Identify improvements for project controls, templates and products, and refer ideas to appropriate managers.

  • Work with Project Manager to ensure projects comply with contractual requirements, as well as internal TYLin processes and procedures.

  • Assist with mentoring and guiding junior colleagues, developing best practices, demonstrating leadership qualities.

What You’ll Bring:

  • BS in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Accounting, or Finance preferred.

  • 5-10 years’ experience in Project Controls.

  • Experience in Architecture/Engineering/Construction consulting industry preferred.

  • Project Accounting experience preferred but not required.

  • Proven experience in contract management, preferably with exposure to subconsultant or subcontractor agreements.

  • Must have strong understanding of document control processes.

  • Proficiency with MS Office programs required, including advanced Excel skills.

  • Experience with Primavera (P6) and ProjectWise software preferred, but not required.

  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $78,000 - $135,000 annually for this position and local market.
