Job Description
The Director of Strategic Partnerships is responsible for developing and supporting in execution of global resourcing strategies to drive and achieve R&D strategies, goals, and budget. Accountable for ensuring that R&D and its functions operate within the current Plan, having visibility resourcing shifts, and that resources are in line with portfolio needs and priorities. Strategically manage resourcing across R&D and its functions in collaboration with the Functional Heads, Business Operations, Finance, and HR, utilizing knowledge of current and future business environment. Globally influence and strategically manage resourcing linkages across the businesses and understand the impact of business decisions and solutions.
Description
- Primarily accountable for forecasting and management of R&D resources and associated budget. Responsible for short- and long-term resource forecasts and management of implications of alternative development scenarios.
- Provides leadership and develop strategic recommendations for R&D functions to ensure all functional areas operate within the current Portfolio Plan/LRP resources and budget. Partner with functional leaders to resource and financially plan upcoming studies and assets.
- Works closely with Finance, HR, and other stakeholders to take leadership role in preparation of AbbVie annual portfolio plan and financial long-range plan.
- Provides overall portfolio timeline and cost estimates to assess portfolio resources and associated financial opportunities. Negotiates with other functional areas on portfolio outcomes and deliverables to meet conflicting demands (time, cost, quality, performance).
