Mgr Environmental Accounting

POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, Environmental Accounting manages the accounting workflow and provides key analytical support to the corporate functional leadership. The Manager, Environmental Accounting, is responsible for the overall quality of accounting information and statutory financial compliance.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages and oversees the quality and accuracy of functional transactional accounting processes and procedures including, but not limited to, billing, cash receipts, capital expenditures, invoices, purchase orders, accounts payable, and related activities. This includes the review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP and Company policy.

• Provides key support to corporate functional leadership through insight and analytical review of critical programs and projects, development of budgets, cash flow forecasting, and operational and / or financial reporting.

• Establishes and manages internal control processes to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including Sarbanes Oxley and all other statutory requirements.

• Produces and provides regular reports; distributes financial and technical data and coordinates regular operating reviews with key stakeholders as appropriate.

• Coordinates with key stakeholders (e.g. the legal and/or internal audit department) to support compliance activities.

• Assists in the roll-out and implementation of new IT systems and/or processes that are related to the function’s financial operations. May provide key support through business analysis and IT system support.

• Builds effective working relationships across corporate functions and throughout organizational levels. Partners effectively and communicates openly to promote and support smooth functional operations and initiatives.

• Communicates with and provides leadership to both financial and non-financial employees as appropriate.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Intermediate knowledge in MS Excel.

• Intermediate knowledge of SQL.

• Thorough knowledge of company accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principles.

• Strong analytical skills for monitoring accounting records and resolving accounting problems.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial data.

• Expert understanding of SOX requirements and testing procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
