2nd Shift Production Supervisor

Supervises shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment; plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the activities of the shop floor, under the direction of the Plant Manager and follow established procedures and approved processes.
- Supervise all production operations such as machining, processing and assembly.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory
- Process Optimization:
- Streamline workflows and eliminate bottlenecks.
- Identify non-value-added steps and reduce them.
- Implement lean principles to improve efficiency.
- Deliver manufactured products in a timely fashion.
- Identify Training Needs:
- Understand the organization’s mission and goals.
- Assess workers’ performance against these goals.
- Review customer feedback and performance data to identify skills and knowledge gaps.
- Develop and Implement Training Programs:
- Create training programs tailored to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Consider different delivery methods, such as e-learning, classroom training, and on-the-job learning.
- Provide Career Development Support:
- Assist employees in their professional growth and advancement.
- Track Training and Development Progress:
- Monitor real-time progress
- Assess Effectiveness of Training Programs
- Evaluate whether training objectives are met.
- Make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
- Supervise all bargaining unit employees including employee hiring and retention, performance review and discipline.
- Ensures effective employee relations; provides employee coaching and development; resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
- Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas; works to continuously improve in all areas.
- Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
- Performs accident investigations.
- Manages department priorities and tracks absenteeism and timekeeping.
- Quality orientation and attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities.
- An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations.
