Senior Manager, Product Management

Description

We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Product Management to lead a portfolio of product categories. This is a strategic leadership role tasked with driving both product success and organizational change. This role will work onsite at our company headquarters in Huntersville, NC. 

You’ll play a central role in leading the transformation of product management at Safeguard Medical—helping build the structure, tools, and behaviors that enable a customer-led, cross-functional, and data-informed approach to product development. This is a builder role for someone who wants to lead with clarity, drive with purpose, and scale with intent. 

What You’ll Own

Product Portfolio Leadership

• Own strategy, performance, and lifecycle management across multiple product categories 
• Drive roadmap creation, product prioritization, and market positioning for the portfolio 
• Establish category-level OKRs and ensure alignment with broader business goals 
• Lead portfolio-level rationalization and new opportunity assessment 
• Manage and mentor a team of Product Managers and/or Sr. Product Managers 
• Provide guidance on strategic planning, field collaboration, and VOC integration 
• Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, and professional development 
• Foster a high-accountability, high-clarity culture within the product team 

Go-to-Market Strategy

• Lead GTM strategy for new product introductions across global markets 
• Partner with Sales and Marketing to define launch strategy, field training, and enablement tools 
• Ensure strong commercial readiness and field adoption across direct and channel partners 

Cross-Functional & Organizational Leadership

• Actively shape planning and execution with NPI, Regulatory, Engineering, and Quality 
• Drive clarity and alignment on product priorities, trade-offs, and resource needs 
• Serve as a key contributor to portfolio investment discussions and strategic planning 
• Lead efforts to evolve Safeguard’s product management operating model—bringing structure, repeatable practices, and voice-of-customer insights to the center of how we build 

Market & Customer Insight

• Oversee VOC efforts and ensure insights are translated into product decisions 
• Track market trends, competitor strategies, and adjacent innovations 
• Inform business development and adjacent market exploration within your portfolio 

Requirements

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or MBA preferred
• 8+ years of product management experience, including direct ownership of multiple product lines 
• 2+ years leading or mentoring product managers 
• Proven success driving product strategy, market launches, and cross-functional execution 
• Experience in regulated industries (medical device, pharma, defense, or adjacent) strongly preferred 
• Excellent communicator and influencer across technical and commercial audiences 
• Skilled in product planning, prioritization frameworks, and portfolio management 
• Experience in building or transforming product organizations is a strong plus 

Other Requirements

• Travel up to 30%, including international 
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
