JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Chief Executive Officer, Hospital Provider Staffing Solutions has responsibility for oversight of physicians and advanced practice clinicians who provide high-quality physician services in service lines but not limited to, hospital medicine, critical care, anesthesia, radiology, and more. The Chief Executive Officer, Provider Staffing Solutions is responsible for the leadership and management of predominantly hospital-based practices across Tenet healthcare markets. This includes overseeing and directing activities including provider human resources requirements, recruitment and retention, customer service and satisfaction, financial performance, clinical excellence, business information systems, and compliance with regulatory bodies. The Chief Executive Officer, Provider Staffing Solutions will lead routine operational and financial reviews along with the finance leadership and hospital market leadership to hold service line managers accountable for delivering high-quality and efficient services. This also includes coordinating with local hospital and market leadership as well as corporate functional departments (Legal, Managed Care, IT, HR, etc.) to ensure effective delivery of services. This role will also be responsible for strategic planning, development, and implementation to strengthen this division within TPR.
Other key duties include the following:
- Strategic planning of the provider / service line development in collaboration with TPR and respective hospital market leadership team
- Management of provider staffing coverage optimization as appropriate, including staffing mix adjustments and utilization of telemedicine
- Review of proformas for coverage agreements with hospital / market leadership, integrating productivity benchmarks, administrative optimization, and clinical performance
- Management of physician and advance practice clinician compensation models, recruitment, and renewals as well as management of individual provider productivity to industry benchmarks
- Oversight of service line medical directors to review performance, optimization opportunities, and current / future programmatic needs
- Lead meetings with physicians, practice operations, revenue cycle management and TPR leadership, including Monthly Operations Reviews. Responsible for working with practice leadership to identify opportunities for improving EBITDA and cash flows
- Management of Financial results for employed physician groups, to include daily/weekly monitoring, proactive partnership with Revenue Cycle Management, and prompt resolution of underperforming accounts.
- Adhere to and support the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet.
- Conform to the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
- Demonstrate support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by being knowledgeable of compliance responsibilities as expressed in the Code of Conduct; adhering to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures policies that affect his/her specific job functions/responsibilities; and reporting compliance issues/concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
At least ten years of practice management experience in a large multispecialty group of physicians that includes hospital-based specialties and management responsibility for all operational areas including finance.
Must have advanced understanding of physician practice start-up requirements, provider recruitment, RVU principles and concepts, billing/collections, accounts receivable management, employee supervision, managed care, patient relations, physician credentialing, medical office policies/procedures, marketing, coding EHR/Practice Management IT systems, and MGMA benchmarks.
