We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Information Architect to join our team. As a Sr. Information Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing information structures and systems that enhance our knowledge management and delivery capabilities. You will work closely with various cross-functional partners to ensure our information assets are well-organized, easily accessible, and effectively utilized.
The Knowledge Management Solutions (KMS) team is responsible for creating and delivering instructional, procedural and technical content for LinkedIn’s members, customers and employees. The content is created both manually and using GAI, and is distributed externally to LinkedIn’s Help Centers, Virtual chat agents, and in-product experiences (including those powered by AI/GAI) where our customers and members self-serve. Employees also use this content internally through enterprise search systems and CRMs.
This position reports to Senior Manager, Knowledge Management Solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Taxonomy and Ontology Development: Create and maintain logical and user-friendly structures for categorizing and organizing information, including taxonomies, metadata schemas, ontologies and content models to ensure discovery and reuse of content.
- Information Architecture Design: Create intuitive information architectures and navigation systems for various content delivery channels such as Help Center, Virtual chat agents, In-Product Help and AI powered features, empowering users to easily find and share information.
- Content Models and Structures: Develop content/data models and structures to standardize and organize content, leveraging frameworks such as DITA, for efficient creation, management, and reuse of knowledge assets.
- Search and Discovery Optimization: Ensure effective search and discovery capabilities by optimizing search algorithms, metadata, and information retrieval processes, enabling users to quickly find relevant information.
- Knowledge Maps and Visualization: Develop knowledge maps, concept maps, and visualizations to illustrate relationships between information assets, expertise, and knowledge flows, facilitating understanding and navigation of complex knowledge.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Content Strategy, Editorial, Localization and Knowledge Engineering teams to integrate information architectures into content creation processes and technology platforms ensuring seamless implementation and interoperability.
- User Experience: Partner with Product Marketing and Product Management teams to conduct user research and usability testing, ensuring information systems meet the needs of end-users and content consumers and provide an intuitive experience.
- Content Management: Oversee the organization and categorization of information within our content management systems (CMS) to ensure consistency, accessibility and effective information retrieval.
- Information Governance: Establish and enforce policies and procedures for the management of information assets, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Measure Impact: Utilize data analytics and visualization tools to define relevant metrics, track performance, and analyze user behavior. Design and conduct A/B tests to evaluate changes and create compelling narratives and visualizations to communicate insights and demonstrate the impact of information architecture on business objectives and user experience.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Information Science, Library Science, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in information architecture, knowledge management, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Information Architecture, UX Design, or Knowledge Management
- Expertise of metadata standards,
