JOB SUMMARY:

The Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) is currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated Accounting professional for the position of Financial Reporting Manager located in Phoenix, Arizona. The Financial Reporting Manager is a direct report to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible to supervise direct reports, coordinate internal and external financial reporting responsibilities, prepare regulatory compliance reporting, conduct technical research, provide support as needed for the completion of internal/external audits, provide general ledger accounting support, conduct monthly and yearly budget reporting, and implement new generally accepted accounting standards.

This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (# days per week in the office/hoteling), based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
  • Coordinating internal and external financial reporting responsibilities including but not limited to:
    o Compilation of requested reports (ACFR, PAFR, AFR, GASB 68 & 75).
    o Preparation of regulatory compliance reports.
  • Supervise direct reports who are responsible for financial reporting and other accounting functions.
  • Conduct technical research, training and make recommendations for implementation of generally accepted accounting standards.
  • Provide general ledger accounting support. 
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and annual closing responsibilities, as needed.
  • Support daily banking responsibilities, as needed.
  • Cross train on other roles and responsibilities within Finance to serve as team support, as needed.
  • Project management / project support.
  • Provide support as needed for the completion of internal or external audits.
