$51.877 - $66.938 - $81.999

What You Will Do
Assists patients, staff and physicians as needed to maintain a high level of efficiency of operations and customer service while providing quality care to the designated patient population. Assists with the leadership of the Nursing and Patient Service Representative staff. Serves as technical nursing expert for Oncology.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 Year RN experience in related clinical area.
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ambulatory experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish


Essential Functions

  • Clinical expertise
    Demonstrates clinical knowledge, skill and technical expertise within scope of practice.
    Exhibits critical thinking skills.
    Proficient IV skills.
    Initial and annual training on cardiovascular access device (CVAD).
    Proficient in the care and use of Vascular Access Devices.
    Oncology pharmacology.
    May act as a clinical resource for assigned area.
    Accurately documents patient care per protocol.
    Partners with physicians to continuously learn and expand clinical knowledge base.
    Triage messages- Listens to patients, collects pertinent information, recognizes the urgency of the patient's problem and routes to physicians.
    Returns phone calls according to physician instruction. May schedule patient appointments.
    In partnership with physician, provides specific educational material and individual teaching.
    Uses universal precautions and demonstrates knowledge of infection control policies and procedures.
    Acts as a role model and provides assistance to PSRs in resolving issues related to front desk responsibilities including scheduling and telephone.
    Fully successful in performing/assisting with all tests and procedures in assigned department.
    Administers medications safely and accurately per guideline and written order.
    Participates in clinical projects as directed by the physician or manager.
  • Department efficiency and effectiveness
    Organizes and completes daily requirements and responsibilities.
    Able to respond to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize patient needs.
    Ensures prompt and efficient return of messages using good judgement and problem solving ability.
    Applications: Ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines for EHR and computer based applications.
    Daily Organization - Monitors patient flow, physician schedules and completes daily tasks to ensure quality service. Completes work within assigned hours.
    Maintains appropriate PAR levels. Cost conscious in usage.
    Responds to urgent and emergent situations in a calm and capable manner. Utilizes good judgment and problem solving ability.
    Participates in and prepares for site inspections and inventories.
    Enters authorizations and schedules surgeries and procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
    Assists in other departments as assigned to meet staffing needs and travels to other sites as business needs arise.
  • Leadership
    Staff training and development: assists with training and education and serves as preceptor/mentor for new and existing staff.
    Consistently pro-active in team development and in problem-solving to meet department goals and support changes.
    Acts as a resource and role model for staff.
    Facilitates inter-departmental cooperation and teamwork, attends and participates in departmental/unit meetings and trainings.
    Adheres to Sharp HealthCare standards of conduct.
  • Medication management
    Maintains current knowledge of applicable medications.
    Demonstrates safe and accurate administration techniques. No medication errors.
