About the role:
Softheon is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator that will join our team to help build, maintain, monitor, support, diagnose, and repair Softheon’s physical and virtual systems and networking infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance, and implement best practices to optimize our cloud-based systems. Additionally, you may be needed to provide second level technical support escalation to the Softheon Helpdesk for the internal staff of Softheon.
This role will be 100% on-site at our Stony Brook Headquarters.
Requirements
You will:
Technical Support and Incident Management
- Receive and coordinate resolutions to technical support calls and requests for the IT team.
- Provide technical support, resolve incidents, and participate in on-call rotation for critical system issues.
- Advise the Softheon Helpdesk on tasks and help to develop methods and procedures to increase helpdesk efficiency on duties.
- Respond to, evaluate, and promptly resolve or escalate severity system and network outages.
- Communicate downtime, upgrades, and other information to appropriate teams as necessary.
Virtual Machine and Infrastructure Management
- Deploy, monitor, and administer Softheon Fleet of Virtual Machines.
- Oversee performance management and maintenance tasks for Microsoft Hyper-V Virtual Machine.
- Monitor uptime and availability of critical systems.
- Oversee ongoing performance tuning, hardware, and software upgrades and optimization as needed for system and networking infrastructure.
System and Network Upgrades and Security
- Implement and manage Azure Active Directory, identity and access management, and security controls.
- Lead changes and upgrades to Softheon’s system, network, and security infrastructure with internal staff and third-party vendors.
Compliance and Best Practices
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Talent Development
- Collaborate with the Talent team to actively engage in the hiring and recruitment processes, leveraging industry networks and expertise to identify, attract, and interview top talent that aligns with the company's objectives and values.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members within your department and across diverse functions.
- Play an integral role in shaping and reinforcing the overall company culture, promoting values that enhance teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement.
Additional Requirements
- This role requires you to work EST hours.
- This role requires you to be on-site at our Stony Brook Headquarters.
- Availability to work occasional weekends and overnight hours as needed.
You have:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- AZ-800 Certification Required
- Must have at least one of the following certifications: AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-305 or AZ-700.

- 6-10 years of related Systems Administrator experience re
