It ingests, aggregates, and processes events collected from millions of endpoints every second, and stores and serves these enriched data to all Nexthink services.</p><p>Join a small team of diverse and experienced engineers that has full ownership of the components they build, right from the requirements and design phase, all the way through implementation, validation and deployment (though there is a dedicated Operations team that handles the production environments). You’ll be part of a group that embraces DevOps and CICD principles, tries to automate everything they can, cares for code quality and maintainability, and is working together to build a world-class cloud platform with modern technologies and practices.</p><p>We’re not all there yet, but we have already started the journey, and if this sounds challenging and interesting to you, we’d love to have you with us!</p><p>As a Senior DevOps Engineer on the Data Persistence team, you will:</p><ul><li>Build a vision, create a roadmap for the provisioning and operation of the Data Platform DB clusters, and design and engineer the technical solutions.</li><li>Own the tooling and processes for the production lifecycle of the database clusters in the Data Platform</li><li>Define and build new automation mechanisms for cloud operations: provision, deploy, update, patch, backup, restore, scale, extend, etc.</li><li>Improve existing deployment automation and monitoring tools and processes to follow industry standards and best practices</li><li>Incident management and response: Help detect, diagnose, and find solutions to achieve required Service Levels (rollback, restore backups, etc.)</li><li>Implement security protocols and compliance requirements for Cloud infrastructure and services</li><li>Design and evolve the tooling and processes to be cloud-native, incorporating principles of continuous integration and deployment</li><li>Work closely with the Cloud Ops teams that are responsible for the operations of the production environments, and who will run many of the tools written by the Data Persistence team. Integrate the tooling and automation to work in conjunction with other deployment automation used by them for managing the complete Nexthink cloud services.</li><li>Work closely with other Engineering teams that utilise the DB clusters, and establish standards for usage, monitoring, scaling, backup/restore and maintenance operations.</li><li>Coordinate and drive projects across teams, and collaborate with stakeholders like Engineering, Product Management, Security, CloudOps etc. to align and execute on the roadmap.</li></ul><p>#LI-Hybrid </p><h3>Qualifications</h3><p>At least 5-7 years of experience in:</p><ul><li>Infrastructure and deployment automation on cloud-based platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.), using infrastructure as code (Cloud Formation, Terraform, etc.), configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet) and pipeline creation tools (like Jenkins)</li><li>Developing solutions for Platform Tools for automation, monitoring, and provisioning, using programming technologies such as Java, Python or Javascript</li><li>Database cluster deployment (AWS Aurora, Clickhouse, etc), configuration, backup/restore, and production operations</li><li>Solid understanding of the network stack (TCP/IP, VPN, HTTP, SSL, routing, etc.), cloud topologies (VPC, Virtual Subnets, NACLS, NSG, ILB, ELB, etc.) and storage (S3, EBS, Azure Files etc)</li><li>Operating and managing production systems, solving issues by striking the right balance between urgency and methodology</li><li>Leading, managing and growing a team, coaching team members, and developing and delivering on technical roadmaps</li><li>Proficiency in written and spoken English</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><p>We are 900+ employees strong in 21 countries across 8 different time zones speaking 60+ languages.
