You will work with FP&amp;A and other cross functional teams to close the books accurately, efficiently, and on time. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the tax department on statutory compliance activities and tax returns outside the US and Canada. We are looking for someone to support our continued success, experience with US GAAP  and Statutory reporting would be an advantage, and someone who has excellent problem-solving skills and enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Day-to-day general ledger accounting operations</li> <li>Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the business operations, financial reporting and the general ledger structure for all of Diligent’s legal entities.</li> <li>Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements</li> <li>Participate in cross training, sharing hob responsibility and serving as a position backup for other team members</li> <li>Lead and coordinate statutory audits and filings, working closely with the team to ensure compliance with international regulations and deadlines</li> <li>Prepare or review international indirect tax filings</li> <li>Support corporate accounting and accounting operations as needed</li> <li>Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders throughout the organization.</li> <li>Develop and implement process improvement initiatives making accounting processes more accurate efficient, and timely</li> <li>Participate in integration activities of acquired companies ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with Diligent's accounting standards and practices</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Experience/Skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting</li> <li>CPA or equivalent preferred</li> <li>Knowledge of U.S. GAAP would be an advantage</li> <li>Experience with statutory and tax compliance in EMEA and APAC would be an advantage</li> <li>Minimum of 4 years’ progressive accounting experience with a demonstrated increase of responsibilities preferably in the technology industry</li> <li>Experienced with accounting concepts related to the software industry, international accounting and mergers and acquisitions is strongly preferred</li> <li>Working knowledge of Netsuite or a similar ERP product</li> <li>Proven ability working cross-functionally and cross-geography with diverse groups.</li> <li>Strong written and oral communication and ability to relate and communicate effectively across all levels of staff inside and outside the department</li> <li>Hands-on, energetic, organized, team player with proven ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment and facilitate change, multitask effectively and work independently</li> <li>Ability to prioritize projects, quickly determine the requirements to accomplish them, and analyze the processes to figure out how to simplify, automate, and improve them for increased efficiency.</li> </ul> <p> </p><p><strong>What Diligent Offers You</strong> </p> <ul> <li><strong>Creativity is ingrained in our culture.</strong> We are innovative collaborators by nature.
