About the role

Job Description

CSCI is seeking a highly motivated and experienced EDI/XML Data Architect to support mission-critical data integration efforts for a Department of Defense (DoD) client. This role offers the opportunity to design and lead complex IT and logistics data integration initiatives, combining deep technical expertise in EDI/XML standards with strong program oversight capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring both a strategic mindset and hands-on experience in architecting data flows across diverse systems—ensuring seamless, secure, and scalable integration in support of critical defense operations. This is a key role for a data professional who thrives at the intersection of architecture, leadership, and mission impact.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, manage, and optimize EDI/XML data solutions for defense logistics systems
  • Lead all phases of project execution including planning, integration, and risk management
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure solutions align with DoD logistics and IT requirements
  • Resolve operational challenges, ensure data integrity, and promote interoperability between systems
  • Manage and mentor technical teams, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT/logistics project or program management, with a strong emphasis on EDI/XML design and integration
  • Active Federal Secret security clearance
  • Proven experience in DoD logistics environments, including finance, supply, contract administration, transportation, and project delivery
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project and capable of managing complex project schedules and dependencies
  • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized authority (e.g., PMP, Certified Data Management Professional, etc.)
  • Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
  • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional presence

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
  • Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
  • Past experience working with a federal agency
  • Department of Defense experience is a plus!
