The Smart Machines and Robotics System Applications group are advertising system applications engineer role. This role will support the system applications team in developing signal chain solutions (including firmware and software), system level evaluation and demonstration platforms, along with associated collateral and training material in order to enable design-in and sales activity with key and broad market customers in the field of industrial automation, industrial sensing, and semiconductor manufacturing technologies. The role will involve participation in tradeshows and training events, as well as providing technical input to customer conversations and new product definitions. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Support of both design and delivery of system level solutions, addressing the industrial automation (motion control and others) and semiconductor manufacturing equipment (SME) market space including alignment with key technology groups across ADI. 
  • Development of system reference designs using hardware, software, and mechanical design skills. 
  • Contribution to Go to Market activity for Motion and SME solution offerings through technical articles, training material, and tradeshow presentations. 
  • Developing domain knowledge in the emerging area of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including power conversion, power monitoring, precision (ADC, DAC, etc.), and sensing technologies (MEMS, Magnetic etc.). 

Skill Set: 

  • BS/MS or BEng/Meng degree in electrical/electronic engineering. 

  • Comfortable with and interested in hardware design and development, schematic and layout tools, general hardware debug, and standard test equipment. 

  • Comfortable with and interested in understanding, debugging and developing C, and C++ or
