Senior Financial Analyst, Competitive Financial Analysis

About our group:

This position is part of the Investor Relations organization. The role will encompass all forms of financial analyses including corporate finance, FP&A, enterprise valuation and benchmarking. 

About the role - you will:

• Focused on our markets and storage ecosystem to provide competitive insights. 
• Work closely with internal customers including operations, sales, product managers, and technical resources. 
• Complete competitive financial analysis, which encompasses assessing current and historical financial performance for Seagate’s primary competitors, identifying key trends regarding. financial health, evaluate relative performance and predict future performance.  
• Draft/develop executive level presentation materials which identify competitive strengths and weaknesses to inform decision making and company strategy development.  
• Develop financial projections by creating hypotheses, use data to test hypothesis and support presentation of analyses in partnership with your manager to internal customers. 
• Summarize quarterly financial results and prepare senior executive level (CEO, CFO, CRO) presentation content for ~30 key customers, supplier, and peer names to provide relevant takeaways and financial trends. 
• As time allows, special projects include in support of Investor Relations and Capital Market activities.

Your experience includes:

• Experience working in the storage industry with knowledge of Hard Disk Drives (HDDs)  
• Basic accounting and financial statement analysis. 
• Net Present Value (NPV), Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and valuation methods. 
• Sensitivity analysis. 
• Research and/or analytics, ideally in market, business, or financial analytics function. 
• Statistical modeling techniques.  
• Proficiency in financial modeling using spreadsheet software. 
• Ability to foster cooperation and teamwork at all levels.  
• Ability to think strategically and present concise information to senior staff. 
• Strong MS Excel experience.  
• Managing multiple projects and deliverables. 
• Developing own milestones and manage deliverables of others without direct authority. 
• Bachelors degree and/or equivalent experience. 

  

You might also have:  

• Experience working in the storage industry with knowledge of NAND/DRAM memory, emerging storage technologies, cloud and enterprise storage systems or computer hardware. 
• Familiar with scenario analysis including Monte Carlo simulation. 
• SQL database experience. 
• Tableau or other visualization tools experience. 
• Alteryx or other data analysis tools experience.

Remote U.S. - #LI-Remote; or on-site at our Fremot, CA, Bloomington, MN or Longmont, CO offices

 

The estimated base salary range for this position is $78,000 - $115,500. Actual salary range is based on the regional labor market of the role in the geography in which the position is located based on the requirements of the job and your skills.
