BWXT is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for its Advanced Technologies location in Lynchburg, VA!

Job Description / Duties:
- Perform detail component, system and design engineering activities including drawings, calculations, and reports.
- Perform component design, with an understanding of incorporating assembly, testing and inspection of mechanical components and system functions within the design.
- Implement design control and configuration control concepts.
- Implement concepts of design for manufacturing and system operations.
- Learn a variety of new procedures, processes and tools while maintaining various stages of production.
- Specify procurement requirements for mechanical components or system operability.
Job Qualifications / Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience is required.
- Must have experience in nuclear reactor core components, reactor vessel and reactor vessel head components.
- Must have a working knowledge of ASME Code, Section III and VIII, specifically
- Must have general knowledge of project engineering activities (task plans, schedules, etc.).
- Ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely written and verbal communication is required.
- Must be a strong team player with the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment but also have the ability to work independently.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is required.
