Sony North America (SNA) has an excellent opportunity within the Sales Strategy Group for a Sr CPFR (Demand) Planner for the Home Entertainment and Personal Entertainment groups. The Sales Strategy group handles all the back-end work to get the products to the store shelves and online channels. In this position, Sr. CPFR (Demand) Planner will handle customer facing forecasts. The Planner will work in partnership with top customers, as well as with Account Sales Management, Business Management and Business Planning with a focus on improving consumer sell-out, dealer sell-in forecast and channel inventory WOS. This role will actively coordinate SOP planning and identify risk and opportunity predicted upon the current forecasts while requiring the planner work to provide analysis that is concise and actionable.
Responsibilities:
Forecasting, including base item forecasting, promotional forecasting, and event planning.
Inventory analysis, to ensure target WOS levels are maintained and reduced where possible.
Collaboration with customers to identify areas of opportunity for greater efficiency and service improvement.
Partnering with Business Planning, Business Management, and other operational organizations to improve national forecasts for better production planning and distribution of finished goods inventory.
Representing customer forecasts in the Sales & Operations Planning process, and perform forecast accuracy analysis to identify focus areas within the operating companies.
Managing operation rule that should be honored for on-time delivery or direct shipment: Locking Period, PO Lead time and PO Rhythm
Collaborating with product-centric operational groups on account-centric Supply Chain Management (SCM), thereby having dotted line accountability to the Account Sales Team and solid line report to Sales Strategy Group
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in related field is required (or equivalent experience)
Must have a minimum of 4 years PSI planning, operations, or related experience preferably in a consumer electronics, high tech or computer-related industry
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to collaborate with business partners and exert tactful influence in a matrixed organization
A proven ability to use quantitative and qualitative analysis to draw conclusion and to make recommendations
Working knowledge of world class supply chain practices, strong analytical capabilities, and business savvy required
Must have strong presentation skills and be comfortable presenting to executive management
Ability to work independently as well as on a team, prioritize duties and work within tight deadlines required
Must have a persistent attention to detail
Ability to think both strategically and execute tactically is required
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and have advanced MS Excel skills
Ability to travel if required
Preferred Requirements:
Prior experience in a combination of product planning, production control, inventory management, or production / manufacturing operations is preferred
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $69,000 to $92,000.
