Job Description
Position Summary
The Director of Banquets leads the strategic and operational direction of all banquet and event services across on-site and off-site venues, ensuring world-class service and execution. This role oversees all banquet staff, budget planning, guest satisfaction, and coordination with key stakeholders to deliver luxury event experiences. This position directly reports to the Director of Food & Beverage.
The budgeted salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and strategic oversight for all banquet operations and event execution
• Act as the primary liaison between clients, Event Managers, culinary teams, and banquet venues
• Direct staffing, recruitment, scheduling, training, and performance management for banquet personnel
• Partner with culinary and events teams to develop elevated, customized menus and service offerings
• Ensure all events meet or exceed Forbes Five-Star standards and client expectations
• Manage departmental budgeting, labor forecasting, and cost control for food, beverage, and staffing
• Oversee inventory, purchasing, and maintenance of all banquet equipment and supplies
• Develop systems and processes to optimize efficiency, guest service, and staff accountability
• Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, liquor, and sanitation regulations
• Collaborate on long-term planning, new business opportunities, and brand-building initiatives
• Serve as the senior point of contact for high-profile and VIP functions
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field required
• Minimum 7 years of experience in food & beverage operations, with 3+ years at a senior/managerial level in banquets or event services
• Experience in a luxury or Forbes-rated hospitality environment strongly preferred
• Previous experience managing multi-venue operations and off-site catering execution
• Formal training or certification in food safety, liquor compliance, or event management is a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Proven leadership in banquet or hospitality operations
• Strong financial acumen with success in budgeting, cost control, and forecasting
• Exceptional communication, team leadership, and staff development skills
• Deep knowledge of luxury food and beverage service standards, including wine and culinary execution
• Strategic thinker with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities under pressure
• Collaborative approach to cross-departmental coordination and guest experience delivery
• Expertise in event logistics, equipment planning, and guest service protocols
• Familiarity with POS systems (e.g., InfoGenesis), Microsoft Office Suite, and inventory platforms
• Strong organizational and administrative capabilities, including payroll and scheduling systems
• Commitment to excellence in guest service and continuous improvement
