LLF-PA Assistant Grower

Description

Little Leaf PA, LLC located in McAdoo, PA is seeking an Assistant Grower to monitor greenhouse settings, including temperature, humidity, and water chemistry. Receives, properly stores and records ordered fertilizer. Mixes fertilizer following formulas for each mixture and applies fertilizer to plants based on growing schedule. Distributes biologic controls weekly following approved methods for each species. Counts and tracks invasive pests in the greenhouse and keeps detailed records. Conducts daily mechanical and technical climate control inspections and adjusts controls as needed using Hortimax software. Participates in trainings as needed and in the growers’ food safety and production alignment meetings and adheres to GMP and HACCP guidelines. Must be available for on-call capacity one week per month. Work environment is in greenhouse wet, humid, hot and also in cold storage environments. Work is near loud, mechanical moving parts and equipment and near electrical tools and sources.

Requires use of caustic chemicals and radiant materials. Must be able to stand or walk for long period of time. Will use hands or fingers to handle/feel. Will climb, kneel, crawl as well as reach in the course of work. 

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

Master's Degree in Horticulture or Agriculture plus 1 year of experience as an Assistant Grower or Grower. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience. Must have a Certified Private Pesticide Application Permit from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
