Description
This role will be a hands-on software engineer with experience in identity and access management, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and scalable, performant data systems. The position is responsible for continual improvement of the workforce IAM systems. This position will also work closely with cloud, platform and infrastructure engineering teams to enable and maintain a high assurance bar for Verily products. Including: scaling the identity program, hardening our core infrastructure, monitoring privileged user activity, providing identity and access management services, or preventing unauthorized access.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to building security tools and infrastructure to analyze, deploy, and manage security controls across verily products.
- Design and implement secure access control solutions with full traceability.
- Make tangible & impactful contributions to secure, reliable, scalable, performance architecture, design, and development for security tooling for cloud deployments.
- Partner with Security Engineering Managers, Security Engineers, and other partner teams to prioritize software development efforts in support of scalable management of security controls for Verily’s operating environments.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- 4+ years of experience designing and implementing software systems in one or more general purpose programming languages: Go, Python, C/C++, or Rust, including experience designing security solutions for distributed systems.
- Experience in information security, software design, tools development.
- Experience developing security tools, automation or frameworks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with SaaS based Identity Providers and Directory Services.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, including common security challenges and/or solutions related to cloud infrastructure and services (GCP, AWS).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and successfully working on multiple products simultaneously. Experience in healthcare or life science fields.
- Prior exposure to threat modeling, attacks and mitigation methods, with experience working in two or more of the following: Network protocols and secure network design; Operating system internals and hardening ; Web application and browser security; Authentication and access control; security protocols; Security monitoring, threat detection.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $148,000-$227,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
