Position Summary:
The CMM Programmer II will independently develop new, troubleshoot, and edit existing inspection programs utilizing CMM/Gauge software for inspection of medium to highly complex components, as well as support the department in inspection software, hardware maintenance, and best practices. This position will work alongside CMM/CNC Programmers, Inspectors, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, supervisors, and managers in a fast paced, dynamic, team environment to provide technical and operational support in the completion of assigned projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create new programs and modify existing CMM/Gauge inspection plans by either creating or using 3D CAD models and part drawings for medium to highly complex components as well as develop programming standards and best practices.
- Design custom operator prompts to facilitate machine operator interface.
- Prove-out CMM/Gauge inspection plans for navigational and computational errors for one system/sensor/software, including conducting GRR's and correlation with mechanical inspection as well as collaborating with programmer for alternative automated inspection systems and provide feedback to engineering for drawing changes for manufacturability.
- Train lower-level Programmers basic and advanced components for a system/sensor/software.
- Provide mechanical inspection training, support, and inspection system verification for medium to highly complex machined components using all available equipment along with researching new tools and technologies.
- Communicate CMM results and develop reporting templates to present graphical views and analysis, as well as prepare basic SPC analysis to enable process troubleshooting, machine correction, and engineering design and drawing improvements using quality data collection software. Provide feedback for manufacturing engineering regarding gauge design as an alternate to automated inspection.
- Manage CMM/Gauge stylus systems as well as establish best practices for hardware implementation, perform advanced system troubleshooting, open tickets with customer service for CMM/Gauge problems, and spec out and organize new CMM/Gauge purchases and installations.
- Research, design, and manage manufacturing of fixturing systems for component work holding on automated inspection machines for highly complex components.
- Write ISO documents for CMM/Gauge related procedures to control CMM/Gauge best practices.
- Create and maintain CMM/Gauge reports, GRR reports, correlation reports, and any other documents related to CMM/Gauge equipment. Submit engineering drawing change requests.
- Engage in and actively volunteer for Continuous Improvement projects and tasks.
- Follow all internal ISO regulated departments processes and procedures.
- Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
- May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
- May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education/Experience & Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required, BS or AS Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, or other engineering discipline preferred, and 5 years minimum as a CMM Programmer using automated inspection software required.
- 6 years minimum as a Mechanical Quality Inspector or relevant experience required.
- Technologist level ASME Y14.5M-2009/2018 engineering drawing standards certificate (or equivalent) required.
