Across our global Neuroscience organization, we advance care for some of medicine’s most complex neurological and spinal conditions. Our Neuromodulation operating unit delivers advanced therapies for chronic pain, movement disorders, and nervous system conditions, offering SCS, DBS, and targeted drug delivery. In this exciting role as a Senior Platform Product Owner, you will have responsibility for leading cloud software development programs that support Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health therapies including Deep Brain Stimulation, Pelvic Health, Targeted Drug Delivery, and Spinal Cord Stimulation.

This role is responsible for portfolio planning, stakeholder alignment, prioritization, and enabling predictable software delivery within a complex, regulated environment and serves as the primary interface between software engineering and internal stakeholders, coordinating priorities across multiple programs while balancing shared platform investments, technical improvements, and application-specific initiatives.
 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Own and prioritize the development backlog for a shared web application platform supporting multiple operating units.

  • Balance investments across shared platform capabilities, technical improvements, maintenance, and business-specific features.

  • Partner with Systems Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Product Management, Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory to translate business and system needs into executable software plans.

  • Coordinate priorities across multiple stakeholders and facilitate decisions when priorities compete.

  • Lead backlog refinement, release planning, and roadmap planning with engineering leadership.

  • Coordinate work across approximately 20 internal and outsourced software developers.

  • Communicate priorities, schedules, risks, and tradeoffs while establishing realistic delivery expectations.

  • Promote reusable platform capabilities and scalable software solutions that benefit multiple business areas.

  • Support Agile software development while ensuring appropriate quality and regulatory practices.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to build credibility with both engineering teams and business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree and 5 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a software engineer, systems engineer, software architect, or technical lead before transitioning into product or program leadership.

  • Technical aptitude with the ability to understand software architecture, technical tradeoffs, and development processes.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing competing priorities.

  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.

  • Experience in medical device, healthcare, or other regulated industries.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar Agile planning tools.

  • Familiarity with FDA-regulated software development and quality systems.
