Position Overview:
As Part of the FBC Marine Operating Center Team, the Transportation Driver, you will support the logistical and operational readiness of our boats across the Hilton Head club. This role is responsible for transporting vessels between club locations and service centers. Occasional light non-technical, but physical, work may also be requested.
The ideal candidate has a desire to work as part of a team to complete the task at hand, familiarity with marine practices, and experience trailering and handling boats. This is a hands-on, field-based position that involves both independent work and coordination with vendors and internal staff.

Essential Functions:
- Safely trailer and deliver boats to/from club sites, the MOC (service center) for servicing, and other vendor locations as needed.
- Support trailering logistics for new boats being put into service and old boats returning to MOC for retirement.
- Support light vehicle and trailer repairs such as truck battery, tire, and fluids maintenance and trailer checks and maintenance.
- Conduct digital inspections on trailers and vessels as part of the transportation process and vessel life cycle.
- Assist in the make ready process of vessels including but not limited to unwrapping vessels, staging safety equipment like life jackets, applying registration numbers and boat names.
- Assist with the retirement process of vessels including but not limited to cleaning and buffing of vessels and removing all equipment.
- Assist in inventory tracking and tidiness of the MOC.
- Drive vessels to and from ramps if needed

Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with experience trailering boats
- Familiarity with marine safety equipment and dockside procedures
- Ability to work independently and adapt to seasonal demands
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in or around boats
- Prior experience in marine operations, boat maintenance, or fleet logistics (seasonal or full-time)
- Demonstrated proficiency with trailering, launching, and retrieving boats of various sizes
- Experience driving boats
- Familiarity with basic marine systems, including fuel and safety equipment
- Experience performing minor mechanical or cosmetic repairs (e.g. decal application, hardware installation)
- Ability to read and interpret parts lists and safety inspection checklists
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage parts inventories, storage spaces, and service records
- Comfortable using mobile apps or digital tools for scheduling, logging maintenance, or tracking inventory
- Positive attitude with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or with vendors and team members
Working Conditions:
- This is an outdoor role requiring physical work in various weather conditions year-round.
- Weekend flexibility may be required during busy periods which usually fall in the summer.
- This role involves frequent local travel between multiple club locations and a Marine Operations Center (MOC).
- The driver will be responsible for trailering boats using a company vehicle and trailer and must be comfortable navigating local routes with varying road and weather conditions.
The anticipated pay rate for this position is $17.50 per hour.
