Position Overview:  Reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety Supervisor will be responsible for the coordination and administration of OH&S program activities and projects to support business objectives. Leading a team of OH&S Advisors the incumbent will continuously monitor and support the improvement of OH&S performance through communication and implementation of corrective action for identified risks. The incumbent manages the implementation of company safety programs, policies, and procedures for their assigned OpCo’s. While partnering with OpCo leaders to ensure compliance and provide day-to-day leadership in the continued building of a strong culture of care. Provides honest, objective feedback to management regarding achievements and opportunities of safety standards, policies, and procedures.

 

Position Responsibilities:

• Work with OpCo Leaders to determine safety priorities and needs across Ontario.
• Actively support preventative injury initiatives, focusing on SIF’s (Serious Injury or Fatality)
• Be visible to OpCo Leadership, coaching, teaching, mentoring.
• Be visible to OH&S Advisors, coaching, teaching, mentoring.
• Analyze Safety Culture Assessments, support development and implementation of Action Plans
• Coordinate the Ontario Materials Safety Program to meet overall company safety requirements through initiation and promotion of day-to-day safety policies and delivery of training activities for employees and management.
• Coordinate communications of occupational hazards and risks to both managers and the workforce and actively works with OpCo Leaders to minimize risks and hazards.
