Idaho Central Credit Union’s mission is to help our members achieve financial success. As a Software Developer, you will work on projects independently and as part of a team to satisfy technical needs for the Credit Union and our members.
*This can be located in Pocatello or Meridian
Responsibilities
At work, your Primary Responsibilities will include:
- Designing and writing production level code to bring new concepts and ideas to reality through the agile application development methodologies.
- Researching, understanding, and satisfying member and Credit Union needs through the work of discovery and software code development.
- Researching and maintaining a working knowledge of emerging technologies, trends, and developments across the industry as well as emerging trends in software development practices and languages.
- Planning out and writing code to implement defined requirements in connection with sponsor and stakeholder vision.
- Analyzing, writing, and converting user stories into detailed work requirements.
- Participating in regular code reviews to assure quality code is being created with detection and correction of issues and security gaps.
- Participating in weekly meetings with the IT team to discuss progress, current and upcoming development projects, and issues that need to be resolved.
- Presenting research findings with recommendations to leverage current capabilities, existing software services and emerging technologies in new ways.
Qualifications
Before you apply, make sure you have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 1 to 5 years of experience designing and writing code in multiple development languages (including C-like languages such as Java, Groovy, Apex, JavaScript, Python, C/C++, C#, and/or Swift) to create production level code and solutions.
- The willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.
- The ability to always maintain the confidentiality of the Credit Union and member records.
Also, please let us know in your application if you have:
- Additional experience in SQL, JSON/XML, HTML5, REST APIs, AngularJS/VueJS/ReactJS, and/or NodeJS.
- A working knowledge of or exposure to Microservices, Docker, Swagger API toolkit, Postman, and/or Scripting.
This role will also require some physical abilities including the ability to sit for extended periods of time, lift 20-40 pounds of office supplies, reach keyboards, and operate basic office machines.
