Human Resources Generalist

Position Purpose:
The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR management in supporting all markets in the company. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.
Essential Duties:
• Provide HRMS support and administration to include updating employee records, entering new hires, and processing employee terminations. (Additionally-update provider systems.) Produce reports as requested, to include HR metrics reporting.
• Manage and produce payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
• Assist with talent acquisition and onboarding
◦ Work with hiring managers to recruit, interview and hire talent
◦ Assist with recruitment activities, new hire orientations and onboarding.
• Assist with benefits administration, to include working with benefit providers.
• Maintain physical and digital personnel files, confidentially.
• Handles various employee appreciate programs to include
◦ Birthday, celebratory, sympathy, etc
◦ Anniversary program
◦ One Powerful Action program.
• Provide administrative support, as needed.
• Respond to external requests for employment verification and reference checks, according to Bank policy.
• Respond to VEC requests relating to recruitment and/or terminations. Act as the liaison for the VEC.
• Maintain bulletin boards in compliance with Bank policy and federal regulations.
• Remain abreast of company policies and procedures to answer employee questions.
• Review and submit invoices to accounting for payment. Resolve discrepancies as needed.
• Assist with leave programs, to include long term disability, short term disability and Family and Medical Leave.

• Other compliance training as assigned
Communication:
• High degree of external and internal contact with people at all levels requiring excellent skills in both verbal and written communication.
• High degree of interpersonal skills required.
Knowledge/Skills:
• One to three years of direct human resource experience required, to include experience in benefits administration, recruitment and employee relations strongly preferred.
• HRMS (Human Resource Management System) experience strongly preferred.
• High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience strongly desired.
• Must have computer skills and the ability to learn HRMS system.
• Must have proficient Microsoft and Outlook skills.
• Familiarity with FLSA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations preferred.
Certificates, Licenses Required:
PHR or SHRM-CP desired
Working Conditions:
Working hours will vary to allow accessibility to employees. Job is performed in an office environment with time spent in the operations area for employee’s easy access. The majority of the time will be spent stationary at a desk. Daily use of a computer. Occasionally files, documents, etc., weighing up to 40 lbs, will need to be transported. Some travel will be required.
