The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Project Management Office Administrator. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services empower individuals with developmental disabilities to lead self-directed, healthy, and meaningful lives.

Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or a close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Manages and leads the DDD Project Management Office (PMO), ensures projects are aligned with the Division’s strategic goals and objectives; defines and implements project management methodologies, standards and best practices; works with leaders to prioritize initiatives and allocate project resources.
● Monitors project delivery while tracking project progress; identifies risks and issues and provides regular reports to DDD Leadership and stakeholders; identifies, assesses and mitigates project risks.
● Provides leadership, mentoring, coaching and direct supervision to PMO resources. Assigns and authorizes leave, approves employee time sheets. Provides ongoing staff training, development and performance management.
● Drives continuous process improvement initiatives to improve project delivery models, monitoring tools, project metrics, and optimizing project outcomes.

Knowledge in:
● Expert understanding of Project Management principles, governance processes and executive reporting.
● Project Management standards and tools.
● Considerable knowledge of interrelationships among various internal and external organizational functions.
Skills in:
● Strong project management skills.
● Strong verbal and written communication skills.
● Strong presentation abilities, critical thinking and innovation skills.
● Supervision of employees and direct coaching.
Ability to:
● Identify and solve complex problems.
● Communicate efficiently and effectively with the project team.
● Work with internal and external stakeholders.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
● A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field and 7-10 years hands on experience in project management with at least 3 years’ experience managing a PMO and/or management of a Project Management team. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent desired.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

● Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks,
