About the role

Here at Scout Motors, we're carrying forward the heritage of one of the most iconic American vehicles in history. A vehicle dating back to 1960. One that forged the path for future generations of rugged SUVs and will do so once again.

But Scout is more than just a brand, it’s a legacy steeped in a culture of exploration, caretaking, and hard work.

The Scout brand is all about respect. Respect for the environment by developing electric vehicles with the capability to get you to any location. Respect for the past and the future by taking an iconic American brand that hasn’t been around for a while, electrifying it, digitizing it, and loading it with American innovation. Respect for communities by creating a company that stands for its people and its customers. And respect for both work and play, with vehicles that are equally at home at a camp site, a job site, or on a Tuesday commute.

At Scout Motors, we empower our talented, inclusive, and entrepreneurial teams to innovate. What makes a Scout employee? Someone who is a visionary and a leader, who seeks new paths and shares lessons learned. A knowledgeable doer who collaborates across the company to build better. A go-getter with unrivaled passion.

Join us at Scout Motors and be part of shaping the future of transportation. If you're ready to drive change and make history, apply now!

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Establish and manage the Scout Motors sales planning process, bringing together key stakeholders to align timelines, systems, business objectives, and customer requirements. Potentially define the Scout Motors long-term sales forecast and planning process as well, taking into account both local and global stakeholders.
  • Manage a sales planning governance process that includes the relevant stakeholders from Scout Production, Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Retail Operations and other functions, complies with stakeholder lead-time requirements, and enables the company to make data-driven sales planning decisions.
  • Together with Scout Order Management & Distribution, Scout IT and other stakeholders, define the systems requirements necessary to facilitate the sales and production planning process, including demand indicators, the creation and documentation of all forecasts and sales plans. Drive and support implementation of these systems as required.
  • Coordinate the creation and ongoing evolution of Scout’s S&OP planning and visualization tools, providing clear inputs to the Scout IT project owner(s) and delivering regular executive progress updates.
  • Guide the creation of, and document and manage, the Scout sales plan of record, submitting sales plans and/or demand scenarios to the necessary cross-functional stakeholders as required.
  • Develop and advocate for a continuously evolving sales forecast which optimizes the desired variables for Scout and meets the needs of all stakeholders to the greatest extent possible.
  • Implement a robust process to gather and apply front-line demand inputs from customer reservations, website vehicle configurations, lost sales, Scout Inside Sales input, Scout workshops and field operations team members.
  • Implement a robust process to pull complete supply-side feedback into the planning process and actively apply and improve supply-side inputs such as current supplier and manufacturing constraints.
  • Coordinate with Scout Accessories to ensure that accessory profit targets, sales goals and operational/financial considerations are contemplated in the sales planning process, and ensure that opportunities to grow and optimize accessory profit are surfaced.
  • Create and manage retail sales objectives by model for Scout regions and markets, ensuring profit achievement and avoidance of standing inventory.
  • Actively engage with the Scout field and Retail Operations team(s) to monitor and understand demand and sales trends in real time.
