Senior Laboratory Technologist

<p>At STERIS, we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe.</p> <h2>Position Summary</h2> <p>The Senior Laboratory Technician is a subject matter expert for a variety of test areas within the Laboratory and lead trainer. </p> <p>They will be multiskilled in a variety of Laboratory test areas and operate a range of different equipment and machinery.</p> <p>The Laboratory Senior Technician is responsible for performing microbiological processes and techniques to support the testing and analysis of Customer samples.</p> <p>In addition, the Senior Technician is responsible for abiding to defined quality procedures, ensuring all test records are accurately completed and for supporting efficient and on time service delivery to the STERIS Customer base</p> <h2>Duties</h2> <p>Safety: To ensure all laboratory work is carried out in compliance with the Local Health and Welfare at Work Legislation,  Health and Safety policies and all relevant statutory provisions in conjunction with the laboratory staff and under the direction of the laboratory senior management team</p> <p>Quality: To understand and always abide by the STERIS Quality Management System and the incorporated procedures. The Senior Technician must  ensure all work, tasks and tests in the laboratory are carried out in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice, ISO13485 (Current Revision), ISO17025 (Current Revision) and any other local accreditation requirements.</p> <p>Delivery: Perform standard microbiological /analytical procedures and techniques, present on stie, including, but not limited to: use of aseptic technique, microbiological identifications, culture preparation, LAL Endotoxin testing, bioburden, environmental monitoring, residual measurements, biological indicator testing, product inoculations and sterility testing. </p> <h2>Duties - cont'd</h2> <p>Costs: The Senior technician is expected to operate within the Laboratory cost structures and ensure the laboratory achieves its cost targets</p> <p>Customer Focus: The Customer is at the centre of what we do, as a Senior technician the expectation is that a Senior Technician is fully aware of this and has customer focus at the centre of the testing</p> <p>Leadership Role: As a senior technician there is a responsibility to act in a leadership role in terms of area ownership, and mentorship of core technicians. </p> <h2>Education Degree</h2> Associate's Degree<h2>Required Experience</h2> <p> </p> <p>STERIS is a leading global provider of products and services that support patient care with an emphasis on infection prevention.  WE HELP OUR CUSTOMERS CREATE A HEALTHIER AND SAFER WORLD by providing innovative healthcare, life sciences and dental products and services.
