North Wind Solutions is a Government contracting small business with operations at military and civilian installations across the United States. The company’s focus is facilities operation and maintenance, waste management and radiological services, security control and force protection, and environmental services.


POSITION PURPOSE:

The Project Controls Support Specialist role is to support the project team in planning, organizing, reporting, and implementing processes and procedures to ensure successful completion of projects on time and within budget.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interface with customer, corporate functionals, and project teams during project setup, execution, and closeout
  • Assist in the delivery of project estimates, schedules, funding requests and status reports to ensure project progress against milestones and budget
  • Receive and manage customer service-level tickets
  • Provide process, technical and analytic guidance and support to the project team
  • Develop, review, submit and track deliverables while ensuring strict adherence to quality standards
  • Help streamline communications to the project team
  • Participate in project meetings and reviews
  • Interface with standard business systems
  • Communicate regularly with customers and key stakeholders

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Train, review and delegate tasks as necessary
  • Other responsibilities as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma and/or PMI certification
  • 3-5 years of project support/project controls or related experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Posses superior oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work under limited supervision on difficult, non-routine tasks
  • Ability to work well in a remote team environment

Special Requirements:

  • Must pass pre-employment background check
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening
  • Applicants are required to have REAL ID ACT compliant documentation at time of hire and nothing on record that would prohibit you from gaining access to Department of Energy sites
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain at least a DOE “L” clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with project controls processes and project management software

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position is primarily sedentary in nature. The work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. The work may involve exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Works mainly in typical office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
