Job Description

AECOM Tishman is seeking an Electrical Assistant Project Manager for our exciting civil engineering project at the New Jersey Wind Port, in Lower Alloways Creek Township, New Jersey. 

Job Description:

  • Under moderate supervision assists the Project Management team with management administration on a moderate size and scope project, or a portion of a large size and scope project, following set guidelines for completion of tasks.Employee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor.
  • Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training. Employee handles some unusual situations independently.  
  • May interface with design team.
  • May work closely with BIM team and use modelling software.
  • May interact with Superintendents to address project questions/issues.Assists with and monitors change orders
  • May assist with regulatory compliance and financial reporting
  • Review project costs and scheduling to ensure completion of project within budget and in conformance with contract.
  • Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate
  • Attend meetings and report on project tasks as needed
  • May provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS Engineering, Business or similar curriculum and 2 years of electrical construction experience or AS and 4 years of relevant experience or HS/GED and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred requirements:

 

  • Ability to read a substation single line diagram, strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read a substation protection and control single line diagram, strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of substation equipment i.e., SF6 circuit breakers, gang operated disconnect switches, transformer (CT’s and PT’s), strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial electrical equipment applications strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of Ohm’s law and basic electrical theory.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to details and excellent follow through to ensure a successful project every time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to present well and collaborate professionally with clients.
  • Strong decision-making skills, ability to apply instruction and take initiative.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and courage to work outside comfort zone.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team player with the ability to work through conflicts.
  • Basic knowledge of estimating, construction, design, finance, and project management
