The Attorney General’s Office is looking for a highly motivated attorney with a commitment to public service to serve as an Assistant Attorney General in the Gaming Enforcement Division within the Criminal Bureau.

The Assistant Attorney General will investigate and prosecute complex criminal cases within the jurisdiction of Western Massachusetts. Cases will include a variety of matters handled by the Criminal Bureau with a focus on gaming.  Investigations involve working closely with law enforcement officers and financial investigators to conduct financial record audits, witness interviews, and search warrants. The Gaming Enforcement Division is a statewide division. Members work closely with the State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit assigned to both the Office of the Attorney General and the Gaming Commission, as well as federal, state, and local law enforcement partners.

The Assistant Attorney General will initiate investigations and evaluate complaints and investigation files from referral sources; formulate investigative strategies, prepare search warrants, analyze documents, and interview witnesses; conduct document and witness-intensive grand jury investigations; prepare immunity and/or cooperation agreements, as needed; make charging, venue, and plea-bargaining recommendations; prosecute complex criminal cases in district and superior courts.
