GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsibility to function as a Production Coordinator: Ensure that the employee handbook is being followed; follow all IATF and ISO 14001 Instructions. Ensures adherence to PPE policy and 5S principles. Ensure work instructions are being followed and employees are properly trained on products and advised of all changes. Ensures documentation on the floor is up to date and controlled. Motivating and mentoring team to support their ongoing development, striving to achieve targets set, and encourage processes to identify and implement improvement opportunities.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES, AUTHORITY, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL ELEMNETS OF THE JOB

  • Stop production to correct safety concerns, quality problems or non-standard work issues.


  • Safety
  • Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principals of safety for self and others in daily activities
  • Ensures the use of safe procedures and standard work/identify ergonomic issues in work cell and participate in corrective actions
  • Understand lockout tagout location on machines and grinders
  • Ensure use of PPE for Hourly EE, get supplies from vending, report negative findings
  • First response for first aide or emergency situations


  • Quality/Customer Focus
  • Coordinate the training of team members in quality issues and policies.
  • Review and communicate deviations / quality alerts / customer concerns to team members.
  • Knowledge of standard work, materials, tools, and equipment needed for job.
  • Ensure production is on time with our Layered Process Audits and provide communication between departments.
  • Conduct daily visual audits; resolve and escalate findings


  • Management
  • Motivate people and team by understanding individual and group behavior.
  • Create a productive work environment.
  • Hold findings for management review as required.
  • Follow escalation procedures. Notify shift Supervisor when suspect material is identified and participate in the disposition decision.
  • Retain samples for problems identified on the quality or fast response boards.
  • Conduct trainings according to training plans, responsible for “on the job training” and maintain training records
  • Convey needs to Material Handlers.
  • Train and evaluate trainers.


  • Daily Routine
  • Lead and attend proper Gemba walk with outgoing/incoming Team Leader: communicate manufacturing conditions and concerns. Communicate all items out of Standard
  • Analyze Daily Shift report, identify operational variances-escalate to Shift Supervisor
  • Instruct team in proper work methods and standard work monitor team quality, ensure adherence to touch point inspections and packaging
  • Review and understand Plex; Control Panel; Inventory Tracking, Daily Shift Report, Work Center Statuses Work Center Log etc.
  • Conduct work cell layout, job break downs, and participate in in creation/review of Operator Work Instructions.
  • Changeover Coordination: When work cell is going into Changeover -responsible for line clearance (remove components, count and update in inventory. When Changeovers are complete responsible to notify Supervisor when press is ready for Production and cleared of all set up equipment, proper packaging is at press and work cell is at 5S standard (correct layout, components, etc.)
  • Conduct Production audits and implement corrective actions when identifying items out of standard
  • Assumes the role of Supervisor upon absences of Shift Supervisor, also fills in for vacationing Supervisors.
  • Responsible for 5S Standards through out the shop and will conduct and sustain monthly 5S projects.
  • Responsible for accurate Inventory in Production Area, including RM return from scrap, FG, and WIP.
  • Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Will play an active role in Continuous Improvement and assist in all Shift Projects , assisting with collecting data (time studies Spaghetti diagrams, training, etc).
  • Learn all new processes as result of Lean event. Ensure changes are effectively communicated, documents, and adhered to.
  • Education/Experience
  • High school graduate, or general eduation degree (GED).
  • 2 years experience in Quality Assurance with a strong understanding of geometric dimensions
