About the role

Department Overview:

The Center for Health Disparities Research (CHDR) is a dynamic, growing, and multidisciplinary Center housed within the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH). Broadly, CHDR focuses on the social determinants of health and related disparities.

Schedule:

The CHDR Admin Support Student will need to be on site, in the office at least once each week, usually 2-6 hours per week during business hours, with flexibility around class schedules. Ideally this day would be Tuesday or Thursday. Our office is located off campus near West Towne mall, just off the bus rapid transit line.
In addition to this, the CHDR Admin Support student will remotely need to support the office 2-6 hours per week. Some weeks will have more work than others. The remote work hours can be more flexible.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

$15.00

Qualifications:

- UW-Madison student in good academic standing
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet schedule expectations as outlined above, including working in our office location near West Towne mall once a week.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Ability to learn new software as required by job duties.
- Organizational skills.
- Communication skills with CHDR staff, scientists, and faculty.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The CHDR Admin Support Student will contribute to the overall success of the Center for Health Disparities Research. This position will provide administrative support for the staff of CHDR and our Westfield office location.
- Supply, equipment, and inventory management
- Key assignments
- Seating chart and contact list maintenance
- Brainstorm and generate new ways to improve office infrastructure
- Perform other projects or duties as assigned
