The Nextech Product team is seeking a summer intern (20-29 hours per week for 12 weeks) who would like to support the research team with user experience (UX) research. The ideal candidate is interested in UX/usability research, a great listener, excellent report writer, who is great at analyzing customer feedback and communicating findings to inform usability decisions for the design team. You possess excellent communication and time management skills, have a vigilance for meeting deadlines, are adept at anticipating problems and recognizing opportunities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. As an intern, you will be fully embedded and entrenched in our research and design process – from identifying research needs to executing on research. With the guidance of design and research team members, you will gain hands-on experience creating research plans, helping to conduct research, and writing up actionable research findings to support our product team with our product roadmap.

Essential Functions
- Participate in and/or assist with various research projects
- Support interviews being conducted with customers and subject matter experts (SMEs) – this can take the form of taking notes and/or moderating interviews
- Write up key insights and recommendations from research into a PowerPoint presentation with clear headlines and support points
- Collaborate with key stake holders to keep research projects aligned with their goals.
- Complete other research-related tasks as assigned by the team based on needs
Minimum Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new software and technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of user research and usability principles and techniques
- Analytical mindset with the capacity to quickly learn and process information
- Professional demeanor and communication style
- Ability to manage time and balance priorities to accomplish necessary tasks
- Ability to review information and make decisions based on established criteria
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with usability and user experience research
- Strong interest in the market research / product user experience space
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Primarily work from home
- Option for onsite observational research at customer practices
