Junior Underwriter (Personal Lines Insurance)

We’re seeking an Underwriter with a strong background in Personal Lines insurance to market new business accounts and effectively communicate with carriers.

Your Impact:

• Evaluates information to determine risk acceptability in accordance with company guidelines.

• Makes appropriate decisions based on the evaluation of underwriting information.

• Effectively communicates and negotiates underwriting and pricing decisions to achieve optimal outcomes.

• Documents decisions in accordance with regulatory standards.

• Acts with a sense of urgency on all inquiries/requests.

• Provides outstanding customer service.

• Underwrites a moderate book of business with a moderate to complex risk profile.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Successful Candidates Will Have:

• Associate Degree or higher, plus relevant personal lines Property & Casualty (P&C) underwriting experience. 

• Excess and Surplus Lines experience is highly preferred.

• Bilingual (English/Mandarin) is preferred.

• Must have the ability to react and respond quickly and professionally.

• Must provide creative, analytical, and innovative thinking to inure to productive problem-solving.

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

At One80 Intermediaries, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including, for eligible employees, medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $51,800 - $65,000 + bonus. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
