Reporting to the Data Architect Director, the Junior Data Architect is responsible for supporting the design, optimization, and maintenance of scalable, secure data systems for ChemTreat. This role contributes to global architecture initiatives, enhances data integrity, and supports analytics and reporting improvements across departments. 

This position is part of the Data Architecture team located in Glen Allen, VA and will be remote. 

In this role, a typical day will look like: 

- Support data application implementations and assist with risk mitigation during upgrades 

- Assist with data migration and mapping between applications 

- Implement data quality processes and support recurring data imports/exports 

- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve data issues and optimize application processes 

- Participate in long-term Master Data Management strategies and documentation 

- Support data modeling, profiling, and integration efforts 

- Assist with database access controls and security settings in Snowflake 

The essential requirements of the job include: 

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or 5 years of relevant experience 

- 2 years of IT experience including Azure data services (example azure data factory)  

- 1 year of experience with Data Warehousing, Analytics environments, and modern platforms (e.g., Snowflake) 

- Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), SQL, and programming languages (Python, Java) 

- Basic understanding of data governance, modeling, and cloud platform architecture
