The Job Details:
As an HRIS Data Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our Human Resource Information System (HRIS) overall. This includes ensuring accurate data entry and integration across systems, creating reports to monitor data accuracy and quality, and supporting internal processes and compliance. You will also handle system configuration and updates to keep the HRIS running smoothly and aligned with business needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience at the intersection of HR, management information system and BI (Business Intelligence).
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain optimal function of the organization’s internal HR information services systems, which includes database management, integrations, maintenance, and upgrades to applications, systems, and modules.
- Maintain and update employee data in the HRIS, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
- Assist in integrating HR systems and ensuring data flows smoothly between platforms and vendors.
- Perform routine HR and Benefits data audits and validation to ensure compliance and data quality.
- Use data and reporting to identify discrepancies between original data entries and subsequent changes within the system.
- Oversee and maintain internal system files, tables, codes, integrity, and security.
- Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
- Generates reports/queries, including writing, maintaining and supporting a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools such as Cognos BI and Excel. Assists in the development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs.
- Provides production support, including researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performing scheduled activities; recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
- Assists in implementations, modifications, software upgrades and applications to meet changing business and technology needs.
- Collaborate with HR and IT teams to troubleshoot system issues and improve system functionality.
- Collaborate with HR staff to identify the improvements and enhancements needed to existing information services and databases; recommend and implement solutions.
- Serves as representative and liaison between HR, Information Services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HR database design and implementation projects.
- Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in data management and security, HR technology, and HRIS applications.
- Assists with projects and process improvement, including applying change management experience to facilitate movement to new levels of quality.
- Assists with training, including developing user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Trains clients on new processes/functionality. Trains new system users.
- Participates in user group meetings/conferences.

- Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with data such as data cleaning and validation, ensuring data integrity and quality.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms (e.g., UltiPro/UKG, Kronos, Dimensions, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP, etc.) is a plus.
- IBM Cognos, Tableau or SQL Coding experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel experience required (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s, Charts and Analytics, etc.).
- Understanding of system integrations/file feeds preferred.
- Understanding of data integration and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy and confidentiality.
- An appetite to learn and continuously improve own personal development/ skills and business knowledge.
