Software Engineer, Instant Loans

<h2><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><strong>About the role</strong></span></h2> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Chime’s Instant Loans team builds products that give members upfront liquidity for larger, specific needs, with clear, predictable repayment that helps them build credit responsibly. As an engineer on the team, you’ll work across the stack to build and scale services that offer a few hundred to a few thousand dollars over terms from months to years, making fair credit accessible to people who are often denied by traditional banks. This role is ideal for engineers who want to move quickly, collaborate closely with product, design, data, and risk, and care deeply about expanding financial access and stability for millions of members.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $133,000 and up to $184,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.&nbsp;</span></p> <h2><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><strong>In this role, you can expect to</strong></span></h2> <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Design, develop, test, refactor and scale backend implementations of new and existing consumer product features</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Work on member-facing mobile app, including designing and building strong, resilient APIs that power key member experiences.</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand member pain points and come up with solutions</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Develop thoroughly tested code and conduct quality assurance on all new code alongside our QA team</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Proactively identify opportunities for improving the reliability and scalability of our systems</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, san
