If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.As the Suspension Tunables Lead in the Chassis Mechanical team, you will lead the design and delivery of systems that control vehicle roll, pitch, and heave and the movement of the unsprung suspension mass. You will be a technical leader on the chassis team and ensure your systems achieve the desired vehicle attributes.


Role:
  • Guide your team in the development of components, such as springs and dampers, from initial concept to production.
  • Design systems and components to achieve the desired vehicle attributes.
  • Approve your group’s designs for release and validation plans. Ensure excellence at system and component level, with great attention to every detail.
  • Drive cross functional problem solving within your group and with other teams and attribute owners. Use creativity and teamwork to integrate multiple systems in the most efficient way possible.
  • Lead virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your suspension systems.
  • Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment.


Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of automotive industry experience, mostly focused on chassis mechanical design
  • Personally designed components from concept to production
  • Experience designing and tuning parts to meet primary and secondary ride attributes
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, NVH, and vehicle crash safety principles
  • Experience in technology, system, and supplier selection
  • Proven 3D CAD, project leadership, and mentoring skills
  • Experience in root cause analysis, engineering change management, and project management
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 20% if needed


Advantageous:
  • 10+ years of automotive industry experience
  • Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6
  • Ability to run and teach others to use structural analysis tools
  • Experience and understanding of automotive mechatronics design and control theory
  • Experience in load data acquisition and post-processing


Education:
  • BS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering
